About Me:
My mother introduced me to raw in 2006. I have been overweight (yo-yoing) most of my adult life. I followed the SAD which caused excessive weight but also several health issues including depression. When I began eating raw I found that many of my long time medical issues began to fade away. I felt great and was on my way to a healthy weight. In the summer of 2007 I jumped off the wagon and began eating unhealthy cooked foods again. I went to the Raw Spirit Festival Oct. 2007 and was once again awakened. I have struggled back and forth with 100% raw since. I am real excited about the Global Juicing Feast. I feel that cleansing the system will offer me a better opportunity to stay raw. I am ready to balance the body once and for all. Its great to be doing this with others. I have started some juicing this week (Feb 27, 2008) and stocked up on the essentials. It will be fun to go to Raw Spirit again this year and see everyone again. I hope to see you there.

My Modified Feast

I have made a decision to juice in the morning, eat raw in the day and juice again at night. I know this isn't quite the same as the intensive juice feast but its just not my style and I am eating too much in the evening after juicing all day. I think that, for me, juicing combined with raw will offer me more success in my weight loss endeavors. The juicing is doing wonderful things to my body with respect to the healing I've been experiencing (thyroid, mental health, eczema, nails, para-menopau… Continue

Day 8

I sound like a broken record but I am actually starting over... AGAIN! I hung out with the girl I mentor yesterday and made the mistake of taking her to lunch. I had a salad. It was like a rock in my gut. Unbelievable how ill I felt all day. I understand the changes that are occuring for sure. I ended up sleeping for 10 hours last night which is very unusual for me. I guess I learned that lesson. I am determined to do this feast so I will begin again. I will not have guilt, that is wasted emotio… Continue

Day 5 or is it 3

I started on March 1st but I didn't get 100% until Monday. So I guess that really puts me on day 3. I feel really good. I have been making some great juices with blood oranges, pineapple and grapefruit. Another with rainbow chard, celery, cucumber, apple and lemon. I don't have anything in the house to tempt me (I live alone) so it does help keep me from straying. Last night I went to a rawluck. There were 8 people there with 3 bringing dishes. The funny part was that out of the 8 people, 6 wer… Continue

Day 1, Again

8:00 am: I didn't do so well yesterday. I spent the day with my boyfriend and found the temptations to eat food overwhelming. I didn't beat myself up for it but did get a better understanding of what obsticles I will encounter. I have realized that it takes more than willpower to juice. It is a new experience for me totally to juice all day and not eat. I think it is time to turn myself over to meditation in the evening. The evenings are the trigger moments for me to eat. This has contrib… Continue

Day 1

I made some yummy juices today. One with spinich, cucumber, celery carrot, beet, lemon, apple, parsley and kale. It is a lovely color of brown, red, green. It is totally delicious. Another has kale, carrot, apple and lemon. And lastly, I juiced a pinapple. I think the pineapple may be a little high in sugar for me. I made the mistake of going on my weekly walk with my group today without having had enough juice before going. Five miles usually doesn't task me like it did today. Oy! I think I wil… Continue
