Day 5 post-feast - making the transition

Sunday, September 7 - I did break my 92-day juice feast last Wednesday - with a savory green smoothie (kale-chard-basil-tomato-celery-carrot-garlic) that I enjoyed with a soup spoon from a lovely ceramic soup bowl. Wow, was it ever filling! But so enjoyable. It was definitely the right time and the right place (my own apartment) for breaking my juice feast. I also completed my editing of the technical report I was working on, so I could go on my one-day retreat on Thursday without having that st… Continue

Day 93 (barely) - to break feast or not?

Wednesday, September 3, 1:30 am - I woke up about an hour ago. It is now "officially" Day 93 for me . . . I've completed 92 days of juice feasting. Amazing! :) Everything had been pointing to breaking my feast today, and I'd made arrangements to take the day off and go to a nearby retreat center, after an appointment with my primary care physician. But yesterday evening I received an automated appointment confirmation call - for Thursday! Oops. Apparently after all the discussion that took place… Continue

Day 89 - still cleansing after all these weeks

Saturday, August 30 - Yesterday I finished my parasite cleanse (using "ParaGone" by RenewLife). I suspect that if there were any critters lurking in my digestive tract, they have been, at least for the most part, eliminated - with the likely exception of Candida, which is more resistant and generally takes much longer to remove. Nevertheless, several of the ingredients in "ParaGone" are supposed to be helpful against Candida. I'm guessing that one of the reasons I've been feeling a bit tired and… Continue

Day 82 - raw emotions, indeed

Saturday, August 23 - Ten more days of juice feasting will bring me to Day 92. I'm experiencing excitement and expectancy, along with doubts and concerns, as I prepare to transition back to solid foods in a healthier, more balanced way. Today's juices are made, the kitchen is cleaned up, and the first quart has been enjoyed. I'd forgotten how pleasant the more "neutral" flavor of organic spinach can be to me - it really lets the flavors of the other vegetables come through. (For the past month… Continue

Day 76 - off the last prescription medication!

Sunday, August 17 - I came across information about the Indian ayurvedic herb Ashwagandha in two different books recently and was very encouraged about its potential to help against MS, and specifically, against MS-induced muscle spasms. After gradually and carefully decreasing my dosage of baclofen (a prescription muscle relaxant) from 20 mg twice a day to 5 mg at bedtime over a period of several weeks, I discontinued it on Thursday, August 14, replacing it with Ashwagandha, which I found in a… Continue

Oh! I'm glad you got my message -- because of his age it likely isn't Wilson's Disease - but it's always good to eliminate the options! Keep me posted!

Cantaloupe juice is also a favorite of mine.

Here's a verse that spoke to me:
Proverbs 13:19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul.
