Well, I decided today to break the juice feast and had about four prunes (along with their soaking water). I did this for several reasons, perhaps the most significant being that I simply felt complete. I will undoubtedly repeat the juice feast again one day. I've found it very healing. I just needed it to be over for now.
It was interesting to examine my emotions around it all today. I was feeling pretty deprived the past few days and unable to shake that feeling. This morning, a friend came o…

First, the Physical
It's getting to the point where people are starting to become concerned. Yes, I am about 10% below the "ideal" weight now, but truly, I can still pinch an inch in certain places! Also, as I mentioned in my first blog entry, I'm not sure that the ideal weight calculation is right for me. I actually feel great at about 6 pounds less than that.
I'm determined to keep going for at least a while longer. After a long talk with my husband yesterday, I soaked some prunes over…

How It's Going
I'm not sure why I decided to begin my juice feast at such a busy time of my life, but I'm relieved to have a day at home today to re-integrate. I'm feeling happy today: proud of myself for making it through two weeks of juice feasting, glad to be able to do a deep clean of the kitchen (feasting can make messes!), perky about my upcoming walk with my dog.
Benefits
I did yoga this morning for the first time in a few weeks, and I was amazed! Upward bow (backbend) was…

My First Negative Thoughts
It was a busy day here, so I needed to make all my juice at once, which I hadn't been doing. I made celery-spinach-chard-pear; pure pineapple; and pure orange. I made four quarts to go and had an additional quart while I was preparing the juice.
By evening, drinking my last quart, I was sick of juice. I considered quitting momentarily, but my mother and son, with whom I was having "dinner" (undoubtedly part of the reason I wanted to eat!) teased me enough to r…

It's so nice to be in the second set of the Juicefeasting.com daily entries. I'm finding the videos by David and Katrina very helpful and nurturing. I feel a bit alone on the feast, coming to it later than most of the Global Juice Feasters this year. There's a cleanse going on in my small town, but it's quite a mild one compared to this! I'm rooting for them all, though. We had a pie auction for our local school, and I put up a raw blueberry-banana pie. It was the only "legal" pie for all those…

I guess my favorite drinks now are anything with cucumber and celery..but years ago they were more fruity. My body just can't handle that all now and it dosen't keep my cravings for food at bay if I do alot of fruit. An asian pear is good in any kind of juice in the beginning to make it more palatable.Watrmelon juice is my all time favorite, but again now I do more of the greens. What are some of your unexpected effects of the feast?I sleep so much more sound and deep and don't feel I need as much.
