Profile

About Me:
I am currently working my way up the dietary spectrum. Just a couple of months ago I was on a SAD diet. I then went vegetarian for about a month. I then switched to vegetarian and whole foods. I then went vegan/whole foods. I am now doing a half and half combination of macrobiotics and raw foods. By the end of next week I plan to do 100% raw foods, and then begin juice feasting March 1st for the global juice feast.

After being on a SAD diet for so many years, and experiencing very poor health for my age I finally got fed up. I began realizing that my poor health is really preventing me from achieving my dreams and goals. My uncle sent me a link to a video on Google with David and John rose lecturing on juice feasting. It really clicked with me and I knew intuitionally that it was the right thing to do to solve my health problems. I started working my way up the dietary ladder and collecting superfoods and supplements for a 92 day feast and here I am now!

I also own my own lawn and landscape business I started recently that I am working to make completely eco-friendly. I have a thousand ideas on how to make money and reduce impact on our ecosystem. I would probably be an ecodesigner, but I decided that I would rather work for myself instead of putting my life's goals in the hands of a corporate sponsor.

What kind of life shifts/transformations are you looking to have with Juice Feasting?
I am looking to solve most if not all of my health/medical problems with a 92 day juice feast. I also want to have a lot of energy so I can devote the extra energy to my actualizing my dreams.

I also have a condition known as sleep apnea. I don't like the traditional methods for dealing with this illness because it requires wearing a clunky machine at night that is noisy and uses electricity every time you sleep. It also treats the symptoms not the illness, and creates a total dependence on the machine to get good sleep for the rest of your life. They say that sleep apnea cannot be solved holistically since the problem is essentially a physical obstruction in the breathing passage during sleep, but I hope to prove them wrong. Hopefully with a combination of a 92 day juice feast to slim down to a more ideal weight, pranayama, jala neti, and jaw, throat, neck, and tongue exercises I can cure my sleep apnea. Hopefully by cleansing and rebuilding my cells with nutrient dense foods while excercising all my breathing muscles I can overcome this disease.

If anyone happens to have any information regarding holistic cures or remedies for sleep apnea please contact me as I am currently researching every avenue to beating this illness naturally.

Thanks,

Ben

I love books. Quantum and particle physics are good, as are computers. I also like landscaping and gardening. I love Hatha yoga, dream yoga, and meditation.

I am extremely interested in ecodesign, ecofarming, and green industries in general. I currently found out that you can run an engine off wood smoke. I would like to some day design a generator that also runs off wood smoke that can power homes or serve as a back up for solar generators. I know from personal experience in landscaping that most of the wood trimmings that tree companies remove goes directly to the landfill. If we built wood smoke powered generators, this waste could be a source of energy. On top of that wood ash contains lye, an essential ingredient for making soap and biodiesel. It has many other uses as well. So even the ash would not go to waste.

Ben, Reference: Your forum discussion-- Tips for Juice Feasting on a Budget--subject: Zeolite. I replied to Barbara's 6 Feb Zeolite discussion instead of yours. I guess people will get the liquid zeolite information o.k. Please let me know if you think I should repost that information. Thanks, Khalah

Hi Dreamscaper, congratulations on your dietary changes! I'm planning a standing start to juice feasting on 1 March from a SAD diet so am hoping the shock won't be too great! Giving up coffee gradually this week though and starting to add some juices. All the best for your journey!

Excellent. It seems you have been doing a lot of research. It sounds like a good plan and I look forward to the day you have cleared up the problem.

Yeah, I have heard that helps but ironically I have been training myself since youth to sleep on my back since I had heard that it is the most balanced position and best for your back. Over the years I have really grown to like sleeping on my back, and I hate to have to give that up. I have noticed that firm mattresses and hard surfaces feel really good if you sleep on your back, but are really uncomfortable if you sleep on your side. As such I like sleeping on hard surfaces. So hopefully I can avoid the whole sleeping on your side thing. I am hoping that with the juice feasting and the mouth, throat, tongue, jaw exercises, pranayama (breath yoga), and jala neti (sinus cleansing yoga) I can rebuild my throat muscles and mandibular while clearing my nasal passages so that I will no longer have a physical obstruction to hinder the breath at night. I am also going to try the chin strap that will force me to breath out of my nose at night. Breathing out of your nose is supposed to be better from a yoga standpoint anyway since prana is inhaled from the nose, and not the mouth. I am sure the losing weight will help though since I slept a lot better when I was thinner...

Welcome to juice feasting. I am interested in following your journey with the sleep apnea. My husband has it and can't use the machine so I am looking forward to what you come up with.

I know that losing the weight did help him. He still has it but it isn't as bad as it once was. He has been trying to re-train himself to sleep on his side more which helps him as well.

Good luck with your feast. I started a bit early and am on day 8. I just couldn't wait. :o)
