Broke my fast

For the last several days I've really been obsessing about junk food. It was driving me crazy, wanting to eat, so I finally decided to break my fast. I definitely wasn't going to eat prunes to break it...ick. I scanned my kitchen for what sounded good and finally had some organic corn chips and raw salsa. It was kinda harsh, but I took some digestive enzymes and Dr. Shultze's pills and everything seemed OK. For some reason, I feel most excellent today, better than I've felt in a long time. Lots… Continue

Before, after pics, 30 days

The before picture is from this video. Seeing myself in that video really made me want to do something to improve my health. I did raw food for 30 days and didn't lose any weight. (I think I was eating too many nuts and such.) I've lost over 20 lbs now on the juice feast and feel much much better.

One month of juicing

Day 30! Wow. Feeling good for the most part. Yesterday was a little tough with the cravings. I just noticed that this bump I've had on my shoulder forever is gone. It was this fibroid (?) mass under the skin, shaped like a grain of rice. It disappeared :) I have been having some rather disturbing symptoms, though. I've been spotting blood for over a week now and today I was coughing up bloody phlegm. Is this something to worry about?

Day 28

4 weeks already! Time flies. I had a pretty rough day yesterday. I was feeling pretty weak and a little dizzy. By the time I got home from work, I was in pretty heavy detox - my teeth hurt, the bridge of my nose hurt for some reason. I just took a bath and went to bed. But at least I slept a long time last night :) That's really been my only bad day so far. I'm looking at all the food other people are eating and it looks so good to me. I wish I could just eat junk food and not get sick. I'm not… Continue

Day 13, Tastes have changed radically

Everything has been good about this fast. It has really helped me keep calm in traumatic events in my life this last week. I would be a basket case if I weren't fasting. Yesterday I started noticing that my taste buds have changed radically. I used to adore carrot juice, but now plain carrot juice is way too sweet for me. Apple juice tasted too sweet the other day too. Just now I had some lemon water (no sweetner) and that was about right for sweetness. Quite a change. I guess I'll start having… Continue

Oh ya. And I remember what weather is like there at this time of the year. Look on the bright side...it will be spring soon. Spring in NH is beautiful. I do miss that. We don't have a spring here.
