Hi Annett,
so glad u r having a good feasting experience yes it is very much a learning experience. I too find the internet and the fact that I can communicate, share and visit from so far totally cool. I have lived in southern Italy, in Sicily since June 2003. I have a special tie with Italy, I grew up here. I lived in Rome from when I was 2 years old until I was 14 yrs old. Then my dad got transferred back home and I went to high school and college back home, and I worked and lived on the East Coast and South West until I was 36 So the language, the life style and the culture of Italyare very much a part of me. as I grew up here. My dad worked for the United Nations in Rome so I have so many wonderful childhood and school memories of Italy, its my home in some ways as I grew up here. We used to come on homeleave to the states every summer and for the christmas holidays. Anyway Sicily is gorgeous, there is history, antiquity ,amazing nature and warmth and sun. I love life here, although I very much am a product of our culture and our country. Its a trade off you know.... I get slow pace of life, safety, tranquility but I give up convenience, choice and customer service. All in all its a good trade off but I feel I could get similar life style benefits in a small town or community somewhere back home in the south or midwest. Everyone knows one another here, there is virtually no crime and kids play outside into the night sometimes :)
I do miss home though, today I was sent a message from an online friend and she said bloom where you are, this is what I intend to do. By reading Eckard Tolle (the power of now) and being more present and appreciate the good here...temps in the 70-80's lots of sun 300 days per year etc...I am being more present and its helping with my homesickness.
Glad to know you, if you decide to visit Sicily I can send u tons of information its an unforgettable place.
Love and light xo Dea
I live in Sicily not to far from the North African coast...we are really spoiled here weatherwise its beautiful year round and just occasionally have rain and wind January thru February. It is such a blessing to live in such mild weather. I am from Northern Virginia and we had bad weather there, ice storms, snow, etc...a girl gets used to this. In fact when I come back home I am moving to Austin Texas where its nice and toasty :) sometimes I do miss fall and winter...have a beautiful day today Dea xoxo

Hope the bad weather in the midwest hasn't affected you personally or your friends and family. :)
Have a nice weekend :) Dea
