I'm on day 6 of the cleanse. I don't know much about it except after day 3 I felt pretty good and planning on going for 10. Other than that I'm curious what you all think of it. Thanks Geoff
i'm currently just doing the master cleanse as well. i am on day 5. i plan to do this for a while & then shift into juicing. i did a 40 day master cleanse & felt amazing. i like it. i don't feel weak, it's easy, & not as expensive! i think 10 days is a great jumpstart to a juice feast, but that's just my opinion. i've read materials that say for detoxification purposes the strength of any sort of fasting goes in this order: water fast, master cleanser, juicing, fruits & veggies, raw vegan (includes fats & such), etc. so i say listen to your body & go with what feels right for you!
I've done a 10 day Master Cleanse and a 108 day Juice Feast -- the MasterCleanse, though I did enjoy it, felt really depleting, as opposed to the JF, which felt nurishing! In my heart of hearts I couldn't recommend the MC to anyone...I found that any weight I'd lost (which wasn't my intention, but a nice side-effect) zoomed back on quickly and then some -- it seemed to be scrambling -- making up for what it was deprived of! The MC was far harder than JFing too -- but yes, far cheaper! After JFing, I'm definetely healthy, but also most definetely poor!
As a nutritionist I'm strongly against it. I have tried it and felt great , but it totally messed up my blood sugar in less than two weeks. That was over ten years ago, before my education ,and before seeing first hand how it can damage health. You will lose a lot of valuable electrolytes, can change your blood calcium levels, and alter your Ph significantly, just to start with. It makes no sense if you look closely and think about what you are trying to do. You put almost no nutrients in yet you have energy, how does that work? Our energy comes only from nutrients. Vitamins, water, enzymes, ect. , all assist nutrients for use in our cells. Anything else that feels like energy, like coffee, sugar, or "energy" drinks, are all just the effect of overstimulating our organs, like our adrenals. This causes great stress and toxicity. Maple syrup is a heated processed sugar. How much could your body detox with daily doses of it.? And unlike water fasting , or juicing your body does not go into a process of massive repair. Hope that helps, Van Nessa
I have done the MC twice and I've enjoyed the benefits. In fact, this year, I did the MC in January and it motivated my decision to do the 92 day global juice feast. I'm not too fond of the salt water flush because I have a tendency to retain the salt even after eliminations. I never would have thought that enemas would become my preference. The juice feast has really changed my attitude about enemas. It was when I completed the MC in 2007 that I became 100% vegan raw and I have been dedicated ever since. I have decided to make the MC an annual event. Having my own lemon tree is a major plus. It looks like my tree is going to be loaded.
