Animal vs Human grade MSM?

I am in the process of trying to find a larger quantity of powdered MSM in the Canadian city I live in. Most health food stores sell small bottles of it that, when you are taking 2-3 tbsp per day, goes very fast and is quite expensive.

I stumbled upon the fact that MSM is given a lot to horses and other animals when they have injuries and there is a local horse store here that sells MSM in 2 lb and 5 lb quantities at a reasonable price.

My question to anyone out there who might know is: Is there a difference between the MSM humans would ingest and what is fed to horses or other animals? In other words, would it cause me any problems if I took MSM sold by an equestrian company.

The product I am looking at says that it is 99.9% pure MSM. Still don't know whether its okay for humans but am continuing to research and am going to call the company.; ▶ Reply to This
