I'm a UK juice feaster and I'm on day 23 today. I've been lurking on these forums for a while and learning lots, thank you. I've just dug into my savings and replaced my Champion with a Green Star Gold after reading about people's experiences with it here.
The quality of the juice is certainly so much richer, but I'm struggling a little with all the froth. I rely on wild greens a lot and there's more froth than juice when I run these through. I'm using the fine screen and putting the greens through before celery/apple/carrot etc.
I'll keep experimenting, but if anyone has any tips they would be much appreciated.
I've got on so much better today. I've rotated the greens and the hard fruit and veg and I've used the the coarser screen. Then I've strained everything through a nut mylk bag. The juice is AMAZING. I'm so pleased. It's got so much more depth of flavour than anything I've tasted before and the texture is so velvety smooth. I love it!
i just received my first green star juicer in the mail today, the new flagship model. I am excited to unpack it and start experimenting. Any advice on how to start, what should i juice first to start getting the hang of it. I am feeling overwhelmed! I've been living off of mostly citrus juices because all i had before was a centrifugal breville juicer. Finally I will be able to have fresh green juices. I am curious about how my body will react to the change from fruit juice to green. Thanks!
your body will LOVE you for it!!!
really, try anything! it will do greens and root veggies both phenomenally.
my tip is that if youre going to do citrus in it, do all the citrus first, it seems to juice much cleaner than if youre rotating with other veg, when it can tend to back it up a bit.
How is it going May? I'm loving my green star more and more each day as I refine my juicing techniques. The advice here has been great. How are you getting on with the greens?
i am loving my green star as well! it juices the greens beautifully. I am having the best juice of my life. the texture is so smooth and appealing. I am really enjoying romaine lettuce juice. it is a little milder than kale. i've had trouble with juicing citrus, melon, and kiwi. but i am so happy with how it juices cucumber, leafy greens, & peppers. any ideas on how to juice the softer fruits? i've been trying to experiment with adjusting the pressure valve. when i juiced cantaloupe it backed up like a volcano, such a mess. i'd like to juice primarily melon, greens and cucumber since it is getting very warm.
You won't have trouble with watermelon or honeydew. Sometimes cantaloupe is a problem. When it starts to back up, you can either follow it with watermelon or honeydew to push it out or use the course screen and the strain through a nut milk bag.
